iOS 9 includes a flight data detector feature that’s very handy for frequent fliers. Your iPhone can detect flight tracking numbers to give you a live preview of the flight details.
Wherever a flight number is written in an app like Messages, Mail or Notes, it will be underlined and yellow – much like detected phone numbers and emails. Press and hold the number and then tap Preview Flight when the option appears.
You’ll be shown an overview of information including departure and arrival times, current flight status and a map of the route. Tap Done to return to the previous app.
