Apple’s Vision Pro headset has arrived in retail stores across the UK, Australia, Canada, France, and Germany. After debuting in the US in February 2024 and later expanding across Asia, Apple’s ambitious “spatial computer” is now available in even more regions around the world.
You can book a free in-store demo online or walk in to try it out. “It’s hard to explain it in words.” said Apple CEO Tim Cook to The Sun newspaper. “It’s hard to show it in a 2D fashion, what a 3D experience will be. And so we’re offering everyone a demo.”
That demo will consist of a 30-minute one-on-one trial with an Apple team member so you can see for yourself what all the fuss is about. It’s ideal if you want to try before you buy or get additional help with fit tests and prescription inserts. Employees have been specially trained to help customers trial the device, and it’s a wonderful way to see what Apple’s groundbreaking technology can do.
Amazing as the experience is, they’re not exactly flying off the shelves. Although preorders have been open for two weeks in the new regions, it seems early adopters needn’t have bothered – most of the stores we checked currently offer same-day pickup. Apple hasn’t released Vision Pro sales figures, but reports suggest fewer than 300,000 units have been sold.
Quick reminder that Apple Vision Pro costs $3,500 in the US and even more in most other regions thanks to exchange rates and international taxes. For example, the headset starts at £3,499 in the UK, which works out to around $4,500.
A more affordable model is rumored to be coming by late 2025 or 2026, potentially requiring an iPhone or Mac for processing power. Oh, and Apple Intelligence won’t be on Vision Pro until next year, following its launch on iPhone, iPad, and Mac this Fall.
Still. If you’re curious about the experience – and you probably are – head down to an Apple Store for a free tryout.
