Apple’s October Event: New iPads and Macs coming today

Despite the fact it’s only a matter of weeks since Apple’s last big product reveal, it’s about to serve up yet another special presentation – this time, at the Brooklyn Academy of Music in New York. As such, the timing is a little different from Apple’s usual California-based events. In fact, it’s starting very soon! (10am eastern time on October 30.)

Apple is expected to unveil a much-updated iPad Pro today, and it’s rumored we’ll see some new Macs too. There are two ways you can stay up to date with everything Apple has to announce.

Watch the keynote live

The event will be streamed live on Apple’s website, and if you want to see all the announcements in their full glory there’s no better way than watching the entire thing online.

You can watch on an iPhone or iPad via apple.com/apple-events or go to that same web address on your computer. The stream is only compatible with Safari, though, so if you usually use Google Chrome or Mozilla Firefox you’ll need to make a change. Similarly, those with Windows PCs can access the stream but only using the Microsoft Edge browser.

If you have an Apple TV, it’s even easier – just search for the Apple Events app in the App Store. It’s a free download and will take you straight into the stream as soon as it’s live.

Whichever method you choose, the full event is likely to last up to two hours and will be filled with presentations, promo videos, tech demos, and special guests.

Do something else with your life

Not everyone wants to sit through a two-hour keynote presentation. If you don’t want to watch the whole thing unfold live, we don’t blame you. Or maybe you’d like to watch it, but you’re too busy – after all, many people will be at work when the show starts.

Your second choice is to ignore the keynote and get on with your life. Chill out, forget about it, and let us do the hard keynote-watching work for you. We’ll be posting a recap later today to let you know all the biggest reveals, with more detailed analysis to follow.

So sit back, relax, and make sure you have notifications turned on so we can alert you as soon as the information is available.
