iOS 18 has only been around for a couple of weeks, but we’re expecting the first software update to drop very soon, in response to a series of unwanted bugs that have affected users in various ways.
Apple is reported to be internally testing iOS 18.0.1 as a minor bug-fixing release, which will be welcome news to anyone who has noticed issues since upgrading.
Such issues include touchscreen malfunctions, iMessage bugs, and (worryingly) M4 iPad Pros being rendered useless by the update. I’ve also noticed some abnormalities with the camera system and dev tools, but that might just be me.
Either way, iOS 18.0.1 won’t bring any new features, but will be an essential download for anyone experiencing issues currently.
In the meantime, keep an eye on Settings > General > Software Update, and be sure to turn on notifications for the Tips & Tricks app so we can let you know as soon as each iOS update is available.
