In recognition of Earth Day 2015, Apple has temporarily changed the leaf segment of its logo to green. The new coloring can be seen adorning all Apple retail stores and certain aspects of their online presence.
The operation is in line with Apple’s recent environmental drive, including a thought-provoking film (see below) about their conservation efforts and the nature of their innovation. The current Apple homepage focuses on these efforts, explaining about its solar power farms in China, commitment to creating sustainable forests and 100% renewable energy for data centers.
Some stores have also opted for green shirts and iPad covers to commemorate the day. This kind of logo-altering stunt is rare, but Apple has been known to roll out a similarly red-tinted logo for World AIDS day.
