Angry Birds developer, Rovio, has updated the original game – one of the most downloaded apps ever – with a bonus episode that includes fan-favorite levels.
The game itself, as if you didn’t already know, features a number of wingless birds, which are slung across the screen via an oversized catapult into various structures surrounding devilish green piggies. The aim is to destroy the pigs.
Obviously, since its inception in December 2009, there have been offshoots of the game, included branded partnerships that have spawned Angry Birds Star Wars, and coming soon; Angry Birds Transformers. But in May last night, Rovio put out a statement:
Did you know that there are now over 500 levels in just the original Angry Birds game alone? Crazy, right? So many levels. And what’s more – we’re still making them! But it’s also important to take a step back every now and then, and find out exactly what our biggest fans love about the games we make … What are your favorite levels in the original Angry Birds? … Your responses will not go unheard, we’re working on something new for the classic Angry Birds game and your feedback will directly influence our plans.
Rovio evidently took these favorite levels to construct the new episode titled ‘Flock Favorites’. The new episode includes 15 new levels based on the fans’ choices, which included Short Fuse, Red’s Mighty Feathers, Surf and Turf, and others
