Thousands of apps and games are added to the App Store each week, and trawling through them to find the good ones can be difficult. That’s where we come in! We’ve found two new titles in particular that we think are worthy of your attention, as well as a golden oldie that we reckon deserves another mention.
App of the Week
Caset: Next-Gen Mixtapes [Free, $2.99/£2.49 per month premium tier]
This neat little music app lets you collaborate on mixtapes with your friends. Start a playlist, add your tracks (sourced from Apple Music), and invite friends to participate. Now, whenever fresh tracks are added, you’ll receive a notification. There’s also a social network element, as you can add reactions to submitted tracks. Sign up to the premium tier and you’ll gain access to themed templates – essentially playlists – that can set the tone for your own collaborative efforts.
Game of the Week
Wavelength [Free, $7.99/£6.99 full unlock]
A stylish conversion of a well-received party board game, Wavelength is all about reading your friends’ minds. Or rather, trying to think how they think. It’s a game for 2 to 10 players, and it can be played online or in-person through pass-the-handset. One team’s appointed ‘psychic’ draws an opposing concept card (rough vs smooth, thrilling vs terrifying etc.), secretly sets a random scoring zone, and assigns a clue to enable their friends to make informed guesses.

App Store Classic
Things 3 [$9.99/£8.99]
We described Things as “The best to-do manager on iOS” in our 2017 review, which speaks to both its quality and its longevity. Now at Things 3, Cultured Code’s app remains a strong contender, with a clean and Apple Design Award-winning UI, focused calendar and planning tools, and the ability to run the simplest or the most complex projects without fuss or clutter. Things remains the real deal a full three major versions in.
