Thousands of apps and games are added to the App Store each week, and trawling through them to find the good ones can be difficult. That’s where we come in!
We’ve found two new titles in particular that we think are worthy of your attention, as well as a golden oldie that we reckon deserves another mention.
App of the Week
CatchUp [Free]
CatchUp is a new app from Facebook’s New Product Experiments team, which means it’s something of a roll of the dice from the social network giant. The idea is to make voice calls more viable and inviting, with an indicator for when each of your contacts is available to call. It then facilitates single and group calls through a tidy-looking interface. And no, you don’t need a Facebook account to use it, though it’ll only work if the other person (or people) have the app installed.
Game of the Week
Mr. Mustachio: Word Search [Free]
Mr Mustachio offers a fresh angle on the word search. This time you’re competing against the clock to pick out singular words in shot, snappy rounds. Pretty soon, though, the twists start to manifest themselves, with funky fonts and vague word clues making life far more challenging for you. Ultimately, the extent of your vocabulary becomes the least of your concerns. And all the while you’re steadily growing the moustache of a dapper gent.
App Store Classic
Deliveries [$5/£5]
One thing’s for sure, we’re all doing a lot more online shopping these days. And while most of us can guarantee that we’ll be home to take the deliveries, that doesn’t stop the anxiety of tracking them all. Thank goodness for Deliveries, then. It’s arguably the go-to parcel tracking app out there, covering all the major couriers and shopping services across more than 20 countries. Deliveries will count down the days to your package arrivals, and show you exactly where they all are on a map.
